Oh Mon Dieu, Ms. Rowley

It's no secret around here that I love all things Gossip Girl. With fashion designers and celebrities making cameos on GG recently (Hello, Isaac Mizrahi and Tim Gunn), I was not at all surprised to find Cynthia Rowley, one of my absolute favorites, in the mix. Next Monday, November 1, Rowley will make a guest appearance on the show for Blair's birthday. She will be in great company, along side Joe Zee and Rachel Zoe. Can it be any more fabulous?

As would be expected, Rowley looks absolutely stunning in a glass cabochon top and printed leather heels from her Spring '11 Collection. She pairs the texture and print of the top and heels with a feather tu-tu (the ballerina in me is dying of jealousy right now) to complete the look. Just another reason to look forward to Monday night.

Band-Aid Chic

When I was young, I was always falling off my bike or getting bruises playing baseball. Often, my favorite part of the experience was the colorful band-aids that my mom kept on hand. While my use of band-aids today is typically limited to blisters from new shoes, I adore these artful ones from Cynnthia Rowley. I kind of wish I had a few scrapes to cover....

we all know that i have a soft spot for cynthia rowley,

especially when it comes to dresses,

so it is so surprise that i have quite a few favorites in her spring 2010 collection.

british vogue says that

"bleeding neckline dresses, slashed pants, shattered sequin sweaters,

purposely threadbare tanks and shredded canvas belts and mules

made it feel like we’d just stumbled into a Tim Burton movie,"

but i must add that it is a very glamorous
and feminine tim burton movie,

and one in which i would gladly play a starring role.

i love the shorter but full skirts,
the asymmetry of the dresses,
the layering and broaches,
the bleeding of colors into white ,
and the ruffles and tiers of fabric.

Cynthia Rowley Fall 09 Preview

I recently received a look book for Cynthia Rowley's Fall 09 collection, full of sequins and shimmer complimenting textured tights and feminine silhouettes. Here are some of my favorites.

I adore the shimmer of the dress coupled with the structured sleeves and feathery necklace.

Those tights and shoes!

This skirt is definitely a favorite from the collection. It is also shown in a royal blue, but I really like the pairing of the orange and brown.

Another shimmery dress with those scrunched booties! I especially love the shape of this dress with the belted waistline and ruffle sleeves.

The menswear inspiration in these pants is great, especially when paired with a chiffon blouse.
