fantastic 40s

{there is a very good chance that this blouse will make it's way into my closet before spring is over.}

it's no secret that i have a love/hate relationship with urban outfitters. on one hand, i can usually find some pretty cool things there either for our apartment or for myself. on the other, the prices are overly inflated and the trends often go too far towards rocker chic style for my taste.

that being said, i was pleasantly surprised {as were many of my fellow fashion followers} by the spring catalog and the 1940s collection, the golden age, that is currently on the website homepage.


i love the vintage-inspired style {of course} and the dainty quality of the photos. i can just imagine that first blouse with a high-waisted skirt and red lipstick... or that blue polka dot skirt with a white deep v-neck tee and some adorable wedges. unfortunately, the items are still overpriced, considering that one could easily thrift something comparable for a fraction of the cost. however, one thing i can say about uo is that their clothes actually fit me, so i will be keeping my eye on a few of these pieces.

Coveted Item No. 23

I have long been on the search for the quintessential leather jacket, ideally from a thrift store, complete with worn patches around the elbows and softened leather from years of use. In my imagination, it is a light brown, 70s inspired piece that would complement dresses, skirts, and dark-wash skinnies. Unfortunately, it seems that this jacket exists only in my imagination, and so I have moved on to what is available at UO. 

Option No. 1:

Silence & Noise Wyatt Moto Jacket

I love the caramel color of the one,  but the pocket on the sleeve seems a bit out of place on a leather jacket.

Option No. 2

Silence & Noise Cropped Moto Jacket

This one is a bit more streamlined, but it is only available in black. Also, I am not entirely sure that I want it to be cropped.

So, I need your help, my lovelies! What are your opinions regarding these jackets? Perhaps you know of a great place to find the {perfect} leather jacket? :)

Fall Footwear

As the days are getting progressively cooler, I have noticed a definite lack in my fall footwear wardrobe. Per my definition, fall shoes are those with which I can wear socks (my feet get really cold). It currently consists of: one pair stiletto black boots, one pair flat black boots, one pair brown wedge booties. That's really about it. I have the standard black and brown stilettos mary janes, but I don't really count them in the fall category since it is a bit difficult to wear socks with them. I definitely  love to rock the bright tights with flats and heels, but sometimes I just wanna wear jeans. Hence, the necessity for sock friendly footwear. I am currently lusting after these from Urban Outfitters:

I think that these shoes would serve both of my fall purposes... tights and dresses as well as jeans and sweaters. It is a bit hard to tell from the picture, but they are grey, which I absolutely love. If I can't find my perfect grey boots, I'll settle for these lovely gems for now. 

I also found a few on Piperlime that I like as well, but I am definitely leaning toward the UO ones. Here are the two that are in the same price range as the ones above. (Of course I found tons of fall shoes that were absolutely gorgeous, but a bit beyond the current pharmacy student budget.)
